Our Story

Three generations, one bakery, one street corner in Manama.

How a single retail shop opened in 1970 grew into four branches without losing the recipes it started with.

Almanar Bakery opened its doors in 1970 in Manama, Bahrain, as a single retail shop selling fresh bread and traditional sweets to the neighborhood around it. More than fifty years later, it is still owned and run by the same family — now in its third generation — and the recipes handed down through that family remain the backbone of everything baked here.

What has changed is scale, not spirit. The bakery has grown from one shop into four branches across Bahrain — Jid Ali, Aali, Jidhafs and Segaya — alongside a delivery app, a presence on Talabat, and a dedicated catering line for weddings, corporate events and family gatherings. Each expansion was built around the same idea: keep the traditional Bahraini sweets and old-recipe pastries that built the bakery's name, and make them easier to reach, whether that means a shorter walk, a delivery order, or a WhatsApp message.

That balance between heritage and convenience shows up in the day-to-day kitchen too. Bahraini sweets are still made to the family's original recipes with high-quality, locally sourced ingredients, while the savory and pastry lines — croissants, cinnamon rolls, sandwiches, fresh bread — are baked throughout the day so branches rarely run low. Custom cakes are designed to order for birthdays, weddings and celebrations, and the catering team builds buffet trays and full spreads for events of any size.

Almanar Bakery's name is meant to travel with that consistency: the same bakery, the same family, the same standards, whether you're walking into the Segaya branch, opening the app, or ordering a catering tray for two hundred guests.
